This site has been set up to support the wave of activism that has happened around Britain this January - particularly the number of occupations in response to the situation in Gaza - hence the title.
What is an occupation, a sit-in or a peace camp?
Since Israel started its latest attack on Palestine, a humanitarian crisis has erupted. To date over 1,300 Palestinians have been killed in the conflict, and many thousands have been injured. The attack has destroyed homes, schools, hospitals. There is not enough power, food or water to cover the population’s needs. If you want to help by donating you can do so through the Disasters Emergency Committee.
It’s hard to know what is happening in Palestine if you follow the mainstream news - it takes a bit of time to dig around and find out what is happening. There are links to useful sources on this website to help with that, I’ll just quote Chomsky’s words for the time being…
“there is a solution, a straightforward solution… Israel could stop its US-backed crimes in the occupied territories and then presumably the reaction to them would stop. But that’s not on the agenda.”
